after 21 days of nervous anticipation the baby chicks are cracking out! So very exciting considering the first dozen produced six, but only three survived (two whites and an araucana named Chester) and the second dozen and a half produced none, zero, pizzenzinenda or some such phrase Nana used to throw out when there was "less than nothin'." Especially heartwarming since the fox caught another one of the mama birds over the weekend and put a whole new spin on the visual "running around like a chicken with its head cut off"... Happy Birthday Chickers !!!

Third Time's A Charm...
after 21 days of nervous anticipation the baby chicks are cracking out!
